The UK broadcast landscape is organised around a small number of public service broadcasters (BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5) and a larger ecosystem of commercial operators. For pitch purposes, the most useful distinction is between national services — which have central press offices — and regional services, which often accept story tips through programme-specific channels.

BBC Regional Services
The BBC operates regional news and current affairs services across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Each regional service has its own programmes, website section and story pitch channels.
ITV Regional News
ITV's regional news programming is produced by ITV Studios and contracted regional production companies. Franchise areas cover most of England, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.

Commercial Radio Groups
The major UK commercial radio groups operate centralised news operations that supply content to their networks of stations.
